Since 1947, we have drawn garments that gain a patina without losing their form. Every cut is traced by hand, every cloth is chosen for how it behaves over time, every finish is reviewed by the atelier before the piece leaves the maison.
Each dress passes through the hands of nine people, from the cutter-measurer to the finisher. The cloth is laid, cut, assembled, rested, taken in again. The piece waits three days before the final inspection.
For this collection, the creative team spent three weeks in Egypt. The motifs of the temples of Karnak, the light of the Nile, the lapis blue of the frescoes of Abydos — all of it entered the palette.
Forty-three pieces numbered by hand, drawn from the frescoes of Karnak and the light of the Nile. No restock.

Seventy-nine years of drawing pieces that gain a patina without losing their form. A journal in eight chapters.
Chapitre · 01
Adèle, 1947.
“That every woman wear a garment that truly resembles her.”
The atelier opens on the rue de la Boétie, in Paris, on a Tuesday in September. Three machines, two bust forms, a dozen lengths of cloth laid on the waxed wood. Adèle Joude is twenty-nine. She has left a post at Madame Grès for a house of her own — without capital, without advertising, without any promise other than the one she makes to herself.
She begins with the silhouette of the women she knows: the bookseller on rue de Lille, the pianist on rue Saint-Honoré, her own aunt. She cuts for them — no collection, no season, no fixed appointments. A score of loyal clients in the first year. Then, by word of mouth, the number grows.
The name — Ressemblance — does not come from a wish to imitate. It comes from a word she uses constantly: the piece must resemble you. For her, that is the only measure.
Chapitre · 02
Seventy-nine gestures.
A single piece, nine pairs of hands, three days' wait before the final inspection.
A Ressemblance dress never leaves the atelier without having been touched by nine people. The cutter-measurer lays the cloth, runs a hand over it, lays it down again. He measures twice — never once. If the silk resists, he folds the length away, and the piece waits.
The cutter does not like to be watched. One person per piece, the rule says. The shears travel the same line four times, never in a single pass. The piece is then handed to the assembler, who tacks it by hand, stitch by stitch, before the machine.
Three days' wait between assembly and finishing — so the cloth can relax. The finisher closes the box. She signs the certificate of origin. Everything is recorded: the dress, the woman, the year.

Weaving for the long term.
Five partners, four families, a single rule: the same hand for three generations.
To choose a cloth is to choose a span of time — the time it takes to gain a patina, to crease, to settle into a wardrobe. It is also to choose a mill, a family, sometimes four or five generations of weavers.
The silk comes from Como — from the Mantovani family, since 1962. The wool comes from Quaregna, from Loro Piana. The sea-island cotton is grown in Bermuda, on a single islet, by a cooperative the maison has supported since 1984. The linen comes from Normandy, from the same village as Adèle — a happy coincidence.
None of these mills is interchangeable. Each has its own vocabulary: the drape, the hand, the spring, the way the fibre answers to evening light.
